We encourage all our survivors to attend our National C.O.P.S. events and Hands On Programs. Please visit their website for dates and registration for all the different Hands On Programs and Events.
Illinois C.O.P.S. offers financial assistance to attend Hands On Programs and National Police Week. Please download and submit appropriate form. If submitting for a child/minor, the parent or legal guardian must sign the acknowledgement below on behalf of the child.
National Police Week – First Year Families – National Police Week Participation Award – Eligible Family Members Include: Surviving Spouse, Children, Step-Children, Parents, and Step-Parents, Siblings and their Spouses, and In Laws and their Spouses, Significant Others/Fiances, and Parents of Officer Minor Child/ren that reside in the state of Illinois. Anyone may attend the events at National Police Week and various Memorials. The Participation Award is open to eligible family members. Other may seek assistance by special request to the Illinois COPS Board.

Hands On Program – Travel Assistance Request – Complete if travel exceeds the $150 Hands on Program Participation Award.
Family Contact for National Police Week
When we have new survivors attending National Police Week for the first time we try to have a friendly face there to help along the way. If you are interested in becoming a NPW Family Contact please email the Chapter President with your interest and you will receive the SOP that list expectations. You will be asked to complete an Application and the Board will determine the need and best suited Contact person/s each year.
